We offer a comprehensive stuttering evaluation, which will determine if your speech disfluencies are the type and the frequency to be considered a fluency disorder. The various types of fluency disorders were modified for the International Classification of Diseases, Ninth, Revision, Clinical Modification (ICD-9-CM) and went into effect on October 1, 2010. The stuttering assessment at Stuttering Pros is designed to diagnose, adult onset fluency disorder, child onset fluency disorder, fluency disorder with underlying disease or conditions, such as Parkinson’s disease, or fluency disorders caused as a late effect of cerebrovascular disease.
The stuttering evaluation usually lasts approximately two hours and has a cost of $350. Clients are encouraged to bring loved ones with them to the stuttering assessment. These significant others can help recall the details and history of the speech problem and participate in the discussion when the findings and recommendations are discussed at the end of the stuttering evaluation.
